Section 1. Name

The name of this organization shall be Central Western Oklahoma Chapter 85 of the Society of Broadcast Engineers, hereinafter referred to as the Chapter.

The Chapter is part of a nonprofit professional society designed to serve the professional needs of persons engaged in broadcast engineering, including radio, television and related industries.

Article II. Membership

The chapter bylaws define active, national, local and sustaining membership and the privileges associated with each category. Chapter leadership should publish the current dues and benefits separately so changing amounts do not require editing this historical reference page.

Officers and Governance

The bylaws provide for elected officers consisting of a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary/Treasurer. Officer terms commence April 1. Vacancies, duties, financial responsibilities and chapter records are addressed in the adopted bylaws.

Meetings

The chapter normally meets monthly, with dates, times and locations determined by the Chairperson and announced in advance. The bylaws establish a customary order of business and use Robert's Rules of Order as a guide to procedure and decorum.

Amendments

The bylaws provide a process for proposed amendments, member voting and adoption. A two-thirds vote of ballots cast is required under the 2007 text.
