Please welcome SBE Chapter 85 Member, Mark Long.

Mark graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2003 with a B.A. in film and a minor in journalism. While at OU, Mark was the assistant to professor in broadcast electronic media and a network technologist. Mark is currently employed with KOPX (Ion Media) as an On-Air Technician.

Before joining KOPX, Mark was employed with the Family Broadcast Group Incorporated (KSBI) also as an On-Air Technician. Mark is a national member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) where he has been certified as a Certified Broadcast Technologist (CBT). He also holds a F.C.C. Amateur General License.
His Memberships include:
-Society of Broadcast Engineers (the important one)
-National Press Photographers Association
-American Radio Relay League.
-Edmond Amateur Radio Society.
-Oklahoma City Citizens Emergency Response Team.
His Hobbies include:
-Local area storm spotting.
-Coordinator of mobile communications trailer in disaster relief.
-Involvement with area ham nets: OCAPA, MORI, ELMER, EARS.
-Participant in HF nets and ham holidays.
-30 years with a summer camp as technology and assistant on-site director.
-Volunteer for first responder organizations from the OHP and OCPD.
-Theatre organ enthusiast and supporter of the craft. (now that's a new one)
Mark's personal Goals:
To gain experience and eventually work toward higher SBE certifications and work in SNG and ENG remote productions.(very worthy goals). Welcome aboard!
